Thank you for supporting our campaign!

Because of New Jersey election law, unfortunately, it’s not cost-effective to take credit card contributions over the Internet. We appreciate your taking the time to write a check and send it to:

Friends of John Bartlett - Contribution Guidelines

  1. Please make checks payable to: “Friends of John Bartlett.” Money orders must bear the signature of the contributor. We cannot accept cash contributions in excess of $199.
  2. New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission contribution limit for individuals, corporations, labor organizations, groups, and associations is $2,600 per election.
  3. Contributions from individuals must be accompanied by the name, home address, occupation, employer name and employer address, as required by law (see reverse side).
  4. Contributions from joint account holders can be made with a single check, provided both names appear on the account and each individual signs the check (For example, a couple may contribute $5,200 as long as both sign the check). A contribution drawn on a joint account, but with a single signature on the check, will be considered a contribution from the signatory.
  5. Contributions may be drawn on the account of partnerships and limited liability companies, but must be attributed to specific partner/members and will count against their $2,600 per individual limit.
  6. Contribution checks from partnerships or LLCs must be signed by the contributing partner/member or must be accompanied by a letter allocating the contribution to the individual partner/member. If the contribution is from more than one partner/member, all must sign a single letter detailing each individual’s name and allocation amount.
  7. Contributions may not be reimbursed by the contributor’s employer, relatives or any third parties under any circumstance.
  8. U.S. Citizens and permanent resident aliens (“green card” holders) may contribute; however, other foreign nationals and foreign corporations are not allowed to contribute.
  9. Contributions are not tax deductible.
  10. State law prohibits contributions by banks, casinos, insurance corporations, public utilities, cable television corporations, and any majority shareholder in such a company. The Casino Control Act prohibits contributions from companies which hold, or are applicants for, a casino license in any State, including any holding company or subsidiary of a casino licensee or applicant. Officers, directors, key employees and principal employees of such casino related companies cannot contribute. Members of the Casino Control Commission and its employees are also prohibited from contributing.
