The Future Is Ours

ABOUT THE EDITOR:

John W. Bartlett, 24, is a 1995 graduate of Brown University and an alumnus of the Raoul Wallenberg Scholarship program at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

In 1991, he was one of the four students honored at the White House for their achievements in publicizing Soviet brutality in the Baltic States; a video on the subject, created from smuggled footage by the students, was shown at more than two dozen colleges across the United States and Canada. The following year, he worked with the East Timor Action Network of Rhode Island, which spearheaded a successful nation-wide campaign to cut U.S. military training aid to Indonesia.

In the summer of 1992, John organized a five-city student exchange tour in Bulgaria for Peace Child International. He remains active in a variety of environmental and human rights campaigns around the world. This is his first book.

John can be reached via Henry Holt and Company and by e-mail at jwb@igc.org.
